Professional Development

OHSLA provides continuing education programs, discussion groups, leadership opportunities and other activities as part of our growing professional development offerings. The newest of these is the addition of our mentoring program. As an OHSLA member you can choose to take advantage of informal conversations through our LinkedIn page and social media and/or participate in the rewarding benefits and idea exchange of more formal mentorship as a mentee or mentor.

Do you have questions about developing your career? Are you thinking about exploring a new path or project? Would you like feedback about a specific situation? Mentorship can provide a space for in-depth exploration and consultation. Whether you prefer a longer-term mentoring relationship or multiple, short-term simultaneous mentoring relationships (think peer-mentoring or speed mentoring), we've pulled together a variety of resources on our mentorship page to help you get started. You will also find mentor bios in that section and don't forget to update your membership information if you would like to be a Mentor or Mentee. You can do that by logging in to your OHSLA account and checking the appropriate filed next to the Mentoring? box.
