The Fall 2017 Meeting brought Ohio’s Health Sciences Librarians together at the Ohio University Lancaster Campus on Friday, November 17, 2017. Erin Seger and Kate Flewelling from the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System and National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region presented a 4 CE MLA course titled PubMed and Beyond: Clinical Resources from the National Library of Medicine. The course introduced clinical resources for librarians, providers, and consumers. Nancy Lensenmayer, Associate Lecturer at Kent University’s School of Information, provided an update on the iSchool and discussed opportunities for collaboration with OHSLA and Ohio’s Health Sciences Libraries. We also held our bi-annual business meeting over lunch and Library Directory Judy Carey Nevin provided a tour of the Hannah V. McCauley Library at Ohio University Lancaster.

PubMed and Beyond: Clinical Resources from the National Library of Medicine
Taught by an experienced medical librarian, this presentation will introduce free bedside information resources for the busy clinician. Resources presented will include Clinical Queries in PubMed/MEDLINE and free drug, patient education, and evidence-based information.

As a bonus we will welcome Nancy Lensenmayer AMLS, Associate Lecturer at Kent State University's School of Information. In 2017 KSU's School of Library and Information Science became the School of Information, or the iSchool for short. Ms. Lensenmayer will take time during the OHSLA Business meeting to discuss the iSchool and answer questions.

Free parking is available in the Faculty (South) Lot, which is closest to the meeting room. If it is full use the Main (North) Parking Lot (also free).
To get to Room 409 from the Faculty parking lot: go in the door to Brasee Hall that is directly off the parking lot. When you exit the stairwell turn right and room 409 is straight back in the corner of the building.
