Mulcahy, MLIS, AHIP Program: Networking and introductions: 9:30-9:45 a.m. Session 1 Introduction to Zotero: 9:45-10:30 a.m. Business Meeting 10:30-11:30 a.m. Session 2 Tending Your Print Garden: Weeding in the Digital Age: 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Session 1: Introduction to Zotero Zotero is a free, easy-to-use citation manager. Please join me as I go over the basics of using Zotero to collect, organize, annotate, cite, and share research. Neil A. Nero, MLIS, AHIP Neil Nero is a medical librarian for research and training at Cleveland Clinic. Previously, Neil worked as a science librarian at Wellesley College for 8 years, and a behavioral sciences librarian at Princeton University for 5 years. Neil received his M.L.I.S. from Kent State University, and his B.A. in Psychology from Cleveland State University. Session 2: Tending Your Print Garden: Weeding in the Digital Age With Libraries building robust electronic collections, what is the need for print books and journals? How do librarians decide what to keep and what to weed? This presentation will provide some pointers on how to approach weeding projects. It will discuss how weeding helps with collection management for both print and electronic formats. Please come prepared to share your own weeding experiences and what was learned. Noreen L. Mulcahy, MLIS, AHIP Noreen Mulcahy has been a health sciences librarian – technical services, with Mount Carmel Health Sciences Library (MCHSL) for 15 years. She conducted several weeding projects for MCHSL and presented on this topic for the Ohio Private Academic Libraries (OPAL) Idea Exchange. Noreen served as Chair of the Technical Services Caucus, Medical Library Association, 2020-2021; OHSLA President-Elect/President/Past President, 2016-2018; and Chair of OPAL Cataloging Committee, 2014-2015. Noreen has been a guest lecturer for Kent State University’s School of Information (iSchool), on topics of cataloging and medical librarianship.
